Komperdell's Compact Titanal trekking poles are lightweight and feature extended-length, compact-diameter foam grips. This additional grip zone allows the poles to be comfortably held lower on the shaft, thus eliminating the need to shorten the pole every time you encounter a steep slope. The compact design makes these poles ideal for women, young adventurers and smaller hands. Three telescoping shaft sections provide a broad range of adjustability (24â-49.2â). The shafts of the poles are constructed of Titanal HF, a lightweight aluminum alloy that weighs just a third that of steel while delivering comparable strength and excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Tungsten/Carbide flex tips provide a secure point of contact with the ground and are designed to flex if the tip of the pole should get stuck. This design helps protect the shaft sections from structural damage. A dual wedge internal locking mechanism provides the Compact Titanal with a secure lock, reducing the chance of the pole collapsing at an inopportune moment. An integrated Stop Lock feature keeps you from over-extending the poles when adjusting length which can jeopardize the strength of the poles. Neoprene-padded straps help relieve stress on your wrists. Compact Titanal poles can be converted for winter use by replacing the summer trekking baskets (included) with one of the several styles of snow baskets available (sold separately).
